In the beautiful state of Idaho! We are unique in the industry since we take bare nylon fiber and go through the entire process of spinning it, braiding it, tying the eyes, then dipping and tagging it, all in house. Why are these better than a strap or chain? Yankum ropes are designed for recovery, not towing. They stretch and store energy, which when released helps recover stuck vehicles more efficiently and smoothly. Straps and chains are more likely to snap or break from being jerked. Should I buy a 20 foot or 30 foot? Most people buy a 30 foot rope. This is because it is best for sand, snow, or mud recoveries. Traction is often limited for both vehicles, and more length allows the recovery vehicle more space to get a running start before the recovery. What is the best way to connect the rope to another vehicle? We recommend using a soft shackle when a smooth radius is available. If the recovery point has square or sharp edges, we recommend using a hard shackle. For a 7/8" rope, we recommend a 7/16" soft shackle and a 3/4" hard shackle What size rope should I get? Consider the safe working load limit of the rope. For example, with an MBS of 28k lbs, if you require a factor of safety of 4, you divide the MBS by 4 and get 7k lbs, that means the rope will perform its best and safely, for vehicles 7k lbs or less.

Saw Yankum ropes on three YouTube off road recovery channels Matt's off-road recovery, FabRats, Bobby Layton. Don't recall which one gave the Yankum Factory tour, but the quality control they demonstrated, and the made in America with a competitive price sold me. So far I've used it twice for recovering a 10,000# John Deere with my pickup. Easiest recovering I've ever done by far. The advantage of a kinetic rope over the chains I've used in the past cannot be overstated. A much easier and gentler pull/bounce.I focused on a good rope, and went cheap on the soft shackles. Figured I can upgrade those later if needed. Definitely love the Yankum ropes! Look for a YouTube video tour of the manufacturing process if you have any doubts.
